Great News and Great Shoes

Nick and I got some GREAT news today. Nick has been looking for a job since last fall. As you saw in a previous post he graduated in December. He went on a lot of interviews and nothing seemed to pan out. So he moved back home and kept looking. Well after sending his resume out to a lot of companies he got an interview with a company on Friday. He said he thought it went really well and I guess it did because he got a phone call and an offer letter this morning. My Fiance is gainfully employed and that is AWESOME!

The next topic is Wedding Shoes. So I've been on the hunt for the perfect wedding shoes. This is more difficult then that expected. I'm wearing a short wedding dress to our reception so they have to be beautiful. And I think I have found them....they are Oscar de la Renta Jewl Tone Platform Pumps.

Aren't they beautiful? I love that they look like gold leaf and not in your face gold. My dresses are ivory and I think they would be perfect with it. And the jewel tones go really well with my colors. They also have a padded insole which makes me think they will be very comfortable. Plus I could totally wear these again! Why so much flattery? They are quite pricey. But hey you only get married once right? I need to go to Houston soon and try them on. They are calling my name and Nick has a job now so it's ok...right?

It's been awhile...

I have not been a very good blogger lately. My office closes early the day before Christmas Eve and doesn't open back up until the Monday after New Years Day. So it was nice to have a little time off and spend a lot of time with my family. Next Christmas I will be married and probably won't have a lot of time off work so I really wanted soak in the time at home.

The extended time home also gave us a lot of time to plan some more wedding things. We went to a lot of Reception venues and finally decided on the location. We will be having it at the local Country Club. It's going to be great. The only thing I'm a little concerned about is our guest list. If everyone comes that we invite it may be a little tight. But the more the merrier right? Well if the weather is nice we may rent a tent so that the party can move outside if people want to. So we'll see. We also met with our Wedding Coordinator. I NEVER thought my Mom would hire a Wedding Coordinator but a couple friends of ours have used her and they said she was a life saver. I'm really happy my Mom hired her because I know it will help her to enjoy the day a lot more. Finally we met with hopefully my Videographer. She is awesome! I love her, her work is awesome, and she's the kind of person you feel like is your very best friend when you just meet. However, my Dad is an engineer and has spreadsheets for the wedding. He is also all about comparison shopping. Well I don't think there is any comparison to the videographer I want but I will check out the competition. I'll let you know who it is as soon as I book her because I don't want anyone stealing her on my day!

Last thought of the day is how much I miss seeing my Fiance. When he graduated he moved back home until he either gets a job or we get married. We've done this dance before because in the 6 years we have been together we haven't always lived in the same city. But this time seems to be a little harder. Maybe it's because I know we are getting married in November and I can not WAIT! Anyways...I guess that's it for now. I will keep you posted as we get other things planned.
